ENNISMORE TO LAUNCH 25HOURS IN ASIA

Ennismore has partnered with Agung Sedayu Group to open a 25hours Hotel The Oddbird in Jakarta. Located in the District 8 building, the hotel will open later this year and will be the brand’s first hotel in Jakarta and in Asia as well. The hotel’s design has been created in collaboration with the Swedish creative studio Stylt. The hotel will feature 345 rooms and serviced residences for both short and long-term stays, dining venues, a pool bar, a lobby lounge, a ballroom, themed event spaces and an outdoor swimming pool. Guests staying at the hotel can also access the mixed-use development, including direct access to the Ashta Mall.

MANDARIN ORIENTAL ANNOUNCES HOTEL, RESIDENCES AT MIAMI

Mandarin Oriental has signed an agreement to manage a new Mandarin Oriental hotel and branded residences in Brickell Key, Miami. The Mandarin Oriental, Miami and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami are expected to open in 2030 and are being developed by Swire Properties, Mandarin Oriental’s JV partner at the existing Mandarin Oriental, Miami. The existing hotel will become part of the One Island Drive development, comprising two towers connected by an amenity podium. The new-build hotel will have 151 rooms (including 60 suites), 61 private residences and 28 hotel residences with ocean and city views. The exterior architecture will be designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, and Paris-based Laura Gonzales will design the interiors. The hotel will have dining venues, meeting and event space and a spa. A standalone tower adjacent to the hotel will feature 220 Residences at Mandarin Oriental, with two- to four-bedroom residences and two exclusive penthouses. Parisian designer Tristan Auer will design the residences. Mandarin Oriental will design all the residences. Currently, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group operates 36 hotels and nine residences in 24 countries.

WYNDHAM HOSTS SECOND BOLD SYMPOSIUM

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is hosting its second BOLD Symposium ahead of the 2023 National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators & Developers Hotel Ownership & Investment Summit. This will be followed by a BOLD Bootcamp, as part of its BOLD Incubator, later this week. On Thursday, the boot camp will take place at the MB Hotel Trademark Collection by Wyndham in Miami Beach. The event will offer a detailed view of opening and operating a hotel. These events are part of Wyndham’s efforts to further diversity in the hospitality industry and provide resources and tools to Black entrepreneurs. Wyndham has awarded 25 hotel deals to Black owners, more than a year since BOLD was launched. In June, Galen Barrett was appointed as vice president, strategic franchise initiatives. He will focus on the progress of both BOLD and Wyndham’s Women Own the Room initiative.

THE STEIGENBERGER ADDS IN GERMANY

The Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts brand has expanded its portfolio to open a hotel in Bielefeld, Germany. Deutsche Hospitality and LFPI Hospitality have signed a franchise agreement for the hotel. The existing Historic Hotel Bielefelder Hof will now operate as Steigenberger Hotel Bielefelder Hof from February 1, 2024. Located across the principal railway station, the 4-star hotel offers 161 rooms including an exclusive tower suite situated on the building’s bay window. The hotel also features dining venues, 12 meeting and event rooms accommodating up to 180 people and a fitness room with its own underground car park. The Steigenberger currently has 43 hotels on three continents, including 20 properties in Germany. BOB W OPENS IN GREECE: Bob W, the short-stay apartment operator, has grown its presence in the European short-term rental market with the opening of its first hotels in Greece. Bob W has opened two properties in Athens — Bob W Psyri and Bob W Akadimia. Bob W is looking to grow in Athens and the broader region.
