As we drive up the path, the anticipation of the hotel\u2019s Hollywood elegance grows. We\u2019ve heard so much about the flamboyant details in the rooms, but one thing for sure, we knew we were in for a relaxing, if not a little OTT stay.<\/span><\/div>\n
Walking into the hotel lobby is like finding yourself at a film star\u2019s elaborate after-party; a grand piano is nestled near the lobby lounge, whilst a tall glamorous chandelier hangs from the ceiling and a palate of deep velvety blues and golds meet with marble floors and chic lighting fixtures. From the moment we enter, the front-of-house staff are all smiles \u2013 ready to assist with bags and show us around.<\/span><\/div>\n

Sayeed at the front desk checks us in. The process is smooth and filled with the knowledge of the hotels\u2019 facilities. At the check-in desk, wall-to-wall LED screens filled with Californian scenes change to reflect the time of day. Portraits of Hollywood\u2019s finest hang behind the desks and even the elevators pay homage to iconic movie scenes.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Paramount Hotel Dubai brings the best of Hollywood\u2019s indulgent charm and glamour into the world of hospitality, offering a unique theme for a city escape. There are 730 rooms, 92 suites, five food and beverage outlets, and a spa and wellness facility. The rooms are grouped into Scene and Stage Guest Rooms; Premiere Suites and Paramount Suites; and themed suites taking inspiration from Paramount Pictures movies and stars, including The Godfather, Carole Lombard and The Great Gatsby. We walk into our Premiere Suite and it feels like walking into the bedroom of a sprawling home up in Beverly Hills. But before we continue: THE TV IS INSIDE THE MIRROR. Yes, you heard right. In the living room you\u2019ll find a larger-than-life mirror which isn\u2019t just there to show your reflection but also doubles as a television, giving you access to the catalogue of Paramount Picture films \u2013 can it get more A-list living than this? The answer is yes, it definitely can and we continue to gasp in awe as we move through the suite. With opulence and plenty of Hollywood inspiration around every corner, this suite deserves a standing ovation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The luxurious entertainment area is impressive, boasting a quaint mini-bar and cosy coffee nook, where you can enjoy your morning espresso or evening glass of fizz. Of course, there\u2019s a full-on Burj Khalifa view too, but we can\u2019t decide if the vista is more breathtaking during the day or night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Honestly, you\u2019ll want to cancel all your plans and stay in. With a luxurious King bedroom, walk-in closet and stunning marbled bathroom featuring a stand-alone bath, rain shower and double vanity desk, this room truly rolls out the red carpet. We love all the neat spaces, giving guests so many great options to curl up and watch a movie, read a book or get some shut-eye. The dressing table with \u201cinfluencer-ready\u201d lighting and makeup mirror is a glamorous addition and is brilliant for taking selfies \u2013 it\u2019s all about the lighting, after all!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hollywood Hospitality<\/span><\/h2>\n

Offering a relaxing vibe by day and larger-than-life energy by night, Malibu Deck is the place where Dubai\u2019s chic crowd flocks to. Think sunset happy hours, shisha, live music and poolside cabanas to work on your tan. If hunger strikes, the laid-back lunch menu, light bites and food truck snacks are all at hand to kerb curb your hunger. Situated by the winding resort-style pool, the easy breezy vibes of this cute poolside spot take us back to mid-day casual drinks and dining on the shores of Malibu. With bohemian-esque beach-house d\u00e9cor, this place serves up delicious bites, a signature cocktail list and electrifying DJ beats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each of Paramount Hotel Dubai\u2019s unique dining and drinking venues brings a different dining experience to the Californian-styled hotel. We visit The Craft Table, an artisanal caf\u00e9 that serves roasted coffee and caffeine-fuelled cocktails. Here you can also relax on sofas and play Jenga or chess. We are advised to try the lamb kofta (AED 85) served with Arabic bread and the lasagna bolognese (AED 85) with beef ragu and b\u00e9chamel sauce. Both dishes are hearty and beautifully cooked, but it was the chilled dining experience that won us over.<\/span><\/div>\n
We have saved the best for last. Did you know that the luxe Business Bay address features one of Dubai\u2019s only speakeasy bars? Tucked away behind a discrete bookcase just off the hotel\u2019s glamorous lobby lies the Flashback Speakeasy Bar & Lounge, where beguiling drinks and a sultry atmosphere await those in the know. The venue is home to an interactive Murder Mystery dinner held every Thursday, where Prohibition-era America inspires the d\u00e9cor and ambience. It\u2019s advisable to don your best 1920s attire and get fully involved. Guess the murderer by engaging with the actors and solving clues for a night of immersive fun.<\/span><\/div>\n

The hotel also features exciting elements such as immersive video walls in the lobby, PAUSE Spa<\/a> offers bespoke treatments and one of the most comprehensive Fitness Centres that we\u2019ve experienced in a hotel, alongside state-of-the-art meetings and events facilities that are themed liked the flight deck of Star Trek\u2019s Starship Enterprise. A private Screening Room offers two showings a day at 4pm and 7pm, where you can put your feet up and enjoy a family-friendly or action-packed movie.<\/span><\/div>\n
